    Talking Fuel

Has anyone noticed a difference in their cars responsiveness with different brands of premium fuel? I was using Mobil but changed to Shell and the engine seems to run better. Anyone else notice anything like this ?

No performance difference -- but I have noticed that gas from out of the area doesn't trigger O2 SES codes for catalytic efficiency in our Durango.

+1, ultra 94 for me too.

now ive heard from a good friend who took a fuels class in his automotive school a while back, (and is now an ASE master tech). that after taking the class and doing a class project on different brands of gas, they found that BP has the highest water content and they found sand in the fuel filter. best results were sunoco, shell, speedway, and even sheetz. (note, we dont have mobil or exxon in this area). never personally had an issue with BP gas, but i generally just stay away from it.

Sunoco 93 is pretty easy to find around here so thats what I've been running exclusively for the past 2 years.

I've always run Shell V-Power 93 octane. I haven't noticed any difference in the way it runs when I use something different. It could be that other gases don't have ethanol. If the gas you buy has almost 15% ethanol, that will get you somewhat worse MPG since Ethanol does not have the same energy content the pure gasoline does. And maybe less power.

My local bp stopped selling 93 octane so that royally pissed me off. I get 93 whereever I can and Chevron and shell do me the most good. Shell and chevron are both over 20 miles to get though.....

I normally put Conoco only in both cars.

But...lately I put the cheapest shit NOT Citgo in the Grand Am.
T/A still gets nothing but Conoco.

On my way from SC to Texas, I got 2 miles per gallon less when I used fuel that contained ethanol. I try to stay with Texaco when I can....

BP strictly unless in a pinch i'll use mobil. The guys down at the shop say when tuning the car they get the best results with BP. Less detonation

BP 92 is the best I can do with out drive way way out of the way for 93!
That is all I have ever used, so I cannot say.

Another vote for Ultra 94 here. Just seems to run smoother with it. And, it's only a nickel more per gallon than their 93 octane.
