    Frost tune costs?

    Hi Guys,

I am about ready to spend some sheckles on some Headers, "Y", cats and all of the stuff that
will be do-able with a bolt on tune from frost but...... After receiving an automated "were very busy" mail from
Steve about what i need to buy, maybe some some help can come from you guys?!

As i am in the UK i will be buying a re-furb PCM with a tune to suit me to save sending my existing PCM
over to him, so..... what would i be paying if the 411 PCM comes with a stock tune for $105 and a bolt on tune
weighs in at $150 with a "sent in" PCM? I have no clue what the cost would be with a re-furb PCM and
    a bolt on tune installed?

Because i don't know... I'll ask here, as a lot of you guys have dealt with Steve and may be able to advise?

Contact with Steve to get firm pricing would be good but he is elusive (busy)!!

    Thanks Guys.....

Not sure on cost with a refurbished OCM - but the tweaks to the tune go beyond just your mods. Steve is prompt with his mail order tunes and very reasonably priced imo.

I thought you Brits called them "pence" rather than "shekels"?

    Hey Jeff,

Yep, you are right! Pence it is!

I realise the tweaks are all encompassing with shift points, torque management and so on but.....

I have no idea how to proceed until i know firm costs?

I figure the most successful way will be to print out the form with all the mods, mail it over
and then wait for contact from Steve as to what the cost is and how to proceed?

It is a bit of a faff but unless somebody can suggest anything else.....??

    Or Steve chimes in????

Do you have any other realistic options on your side of the pond? I'll see if I can find an answer...

I am sure if i look around i could find somebody but at a sensible price from Frost,
i will end up with a tune which will work well with my car as i have yet to read
about, or hear any bad words to be said about Steve and his work!

And although it is a bit of work to do this....... It is a breeze compared with the
car itself so i am keen to make this happen.

I had a look around over here and it is a challenge!

I found this bunch and it is the closest i can come to what i need.

The Supercharger Specialists | Search Results

Look at the prices!!! This equates to around $700

If a ball park figure for Frost is $255 for replacement PCM witha tune installed
then it's a no brainer, shipping chores or not!!!

I might add that although they deal in superchargers.... I am not planning on that route!!!!!!!!

If that is a full dyno tune, then it's probably within the realm of reason. I can't say there would be enough difference though to justify the additional expense as we are only talking a couple of bolt on mods.

    You are dead right Jeff.

It is, as far as i can tell, "just" PCM work along the lines of Frost and the price difference is huge.

Plus...... Simply everybody rates and recommends frost so there you have it!

I may just go the route of sending my existing PCM over with an overnight courier to save the $105 on
a refurb PCM for an even bigger saving. If i went that route then i know the costs! $150 plus whatever
    shipping.....
