front frame aleignment
I just finished getting my 2000 ws6 trans am saftied and had to have the front right side pulled as it would not take a wheel aleignment. The repair facility had to send the car to a frame repair shop who pulled the complete front clip to pull the one right shock tower 1.5 inches. My question is - is this a common problem with the f body or was it something I missed when I bought the car? Thanks Greg

I would think that it's something that got missed, the only way I can see that moving is from a heavy front hit. I'm not a body expert though. Do you know which way it was pulled?

i agree...it has been hit...there is only 1/8 to 1/4" of difference allowed from the factory so it didnt move that far on its own

definitely some kinda collision to cause that much movement. I would carfax it too... but something like that can happen from sliding into a curb @ 30 mph+ and may never have been reported as an accident. If you brought it to a good repair shop (sounds like you did, if they pulled the whole clip).... it should be fine now. I would check the front wheel bearing on that side for play... a medium to hard hit can cause failure

well the car fax said the car had a front collission in 2003 but it did not write off the car I am guessing the repair was done poorly and it just got put through to get it done.

Carfax isn't 100%, trust me! When I sold my pickup I printed a carfax just to give buyers a piece of mind. My truck kissed a pole and I had it repaired at a reputable body shop, and when I printed the report...no record on the carfax!!! Went through insurance and everything, but I didn't wanna be a dick, so I told the guy that's why I was selling it for cheaper than book value.
