wow didnt know people did this. wonder if anyone has made the 98s+ look like the LT1. i actually like the LT1 with ram air front end better. if i actually currently had a bird right now i would probably have traded u the parts heh.

I did mine, I sold all the old and basically spent about 550 total. That was for some brackets and the us exotics ws9 hood. Otherwise wouldnt have cost me a dime I did get one broken fender free and another cheap, however mine werent perfect, so didnt get top dollar for them when I sold them. Still got the stock hood, so maybe Ill get 50 for it.

Not in paint yet, too busy with other cars, also did a quick spray of the red headlight lol! Yes it was a pain to get ti all lined up and I got fine tuning to do. Its an easy swap as far as bolting on parts and such, but expect to spend a good afternoon lining stuff up.

i like the idea of leavin the taillights lt1 style

think of it this way, they think u have an ls1, but once u spank them and theyre lookin at ur rear, they notice its really an lt1, and they feel even worse!

I actually kind of liked the lt1 tails better, but mine werent in the best shape and these ones were perfect, so swapped them over and its growing on me. I do plan an ls1 conversion eventuall too lol! But no rush there, yes I know you should have bought an ls1. I have maybe 2k into the car as is. So another 2k or so minus what Id get for the lt1 and some other parts, would still be under 4k.

i like alot about the lt1 birds better. this is how these cars rate with me

    lt1 transam > ls1 transam
    lt1 formula < ls1 formula
    lt1 camaro < ls1 camaro

do u mean ls1 conversion like the engine? or just the rest of the ls1 styling?

Complete swap, ls1 motor, but most likely would wait for a totaled ls1 ta, swap it all over... but times limited along with garage space, so probally wont happen. Only if I stumble accross a deal I cant pass up.

nah i didnt want the 98+ front end.

i think its an awesome idea to convert it, and major props to everyone that does. but personally, i dont think i would, cuz i do like the lt1 ws6 look better. maybe if i bought an lt1 t/a, and i got sick of the front end i would switch it...

dont worry, im not ignorant. i understand ls1 owns lt1. u cant say one has a better style tho, cuz its personal preference.

i did mine, i love the look of the 98+ ram air, mostly i did it so i can upgrade to an ls2 engine later on. Ive started saving and hopefully i can get enough in a couple years for an ls2 and a new paint job.
