Got the wheels back from the powdercoater. They look amazing and the quality of the coating is nothing I've seen before. They will be getting all of my business from now on.

Will there be any sealing issues with having powdercoat on the bead of the wheel? How about tires slipping on the rim during launch??

Yeah, it's a Gen V M90 for my Grand Prix.

I honestly don't know. I would think not since the powdercoating is about as slippery as the bare aluminum on a regular wheel.

That's what I was thinking too, but I wasn't sure either.

So are you going to "screw" (forgot what the tech term is) the tire to prevent slippage?

No, I'll never get my street tires to hook hard enough to need them. Also, I think I need to get tubes to hold air.

I thought you were installing slicks or DR's that's why I asked.

I have a separate set of wheels for the track. My street tires are Michelin Pilot Sports. While they're good for stock vettes, I could never get them to hold a sudden stab of the throttle at any speed lower than 60mph. I always had to ease into them.

Home from the body shop...just a few things to wrap up before I start her up.

Got the 335s mounted on my new wheels:

My 1k mile front hubs were destroyed in the accident, so I needed to replace them. Decided to replace the wheel studs with some ARP wheel studs:

Minitubs were totally worth it...335s tuck in real nice.

I'll wait till the car is back together and the rear suspension is adjusted properly. The passenger side is sticking out a little further than the driver side. I'm not sure if it's the slope of my driveway or the panhard bar needs to be adjusted.

Are the exhaust tips sticking out way far or is their no rear bumper on it yet? Looks great so far.
