    Formula or trans am?

There is a lot of debate in other forums and maybe even this one I just want to get it straight. I have heard that a Firebird "Formula" is faster then a Firebird "Trans Am". I have raced the formula stock for stock on the street and on the track and have won by one or one and a half cars. What is the difference between the forumla and trans am?

bodystyle thats it. TA has the high wing and the formula has the firebird wing. Also the front bumper on the TA is different in that the foglights are centered to the middle. The Formula's bumper is that of a firebird. I think that is it. THe formula might be a bit lighter than the TA thats why it is said that it is faster. Performance wise, it is the same damn thing.

Agreed. T/A also has ground effects and is typically more optioned (ie premium stereo, leather, etc).

Leather, T-tops, keyless entry, and a body kit are tha basic differences.
PW, PL, PM and Monsoon are all standard on the Formula aswell as the Trans Am.
    I didn't want leather or T-tops thats why I ordered a Formula
Like said above the only real difference is weight and it's not even that much Maybe 100 lbs depending on options.
Stock for stock racing between the 2 could go either way. It's all dependant on Driver Trans and gearing.

Be warry of Formula Hardtops with an M6 like mine very light and very fast.
