first night out in dads camaro
some of you know that my dad just got his 99 z28 about a month ago. and we had raced to see which would win. the stalled, shift kit, and header A4 or the stock M6. well saturday night me and three friends took the camaro out to our cruise spot, and just drove around and nothing was happening, so we decided to head on home. while we were driving on the highway, i saw in the rear view mirror four head lights that looked like a new mustang. he was coming up on us pretty quick, so we were expecting a good race out of this new stang...seeing as we had four people and a full tank of gas in a stock 99 camaro. as he caught up to us he just rolled his windows up and turned the music up loud enough for us to hear it. so i fell back some to drop a few gears. at 60 MPH i was in third(didnt want to go into second) i stomped on it to catch up to him again and right when i got nose to nose. he did what any typical stang owner arond here does tries to show you up. well the end result was me flying by him like he was a honda. (yes he was WOT you could hear that horrid 4.6 motor just screaming away) after we flew by and got ahead we slowed down to about 50 to let him catch up. so what does he do? he slows down to 50 or slower and stays a couple cars behind us the whole way..lol fully loaded LS1>new mustang GT. i know this has nothing to do with a ta or this isnt the kill story thread but i had to share with all of you. it was just that funny.
oh yeah i just recently found out about the phrase "LS1, touched by the hand of God" lol tha is so dumb...but funny

yeah they seem to know it isn't worth racing ls-1's kind of sucks I need a good laugh more often. I have a friend who has a 2001 gt. He complained to me that his car could not go over 90mph, so I took the car to see if it has a governor on it. It turns out his v-8 only has 3 gears (auto) and it tops out at 90mph! what a waste of what little power he has, I can do close to 90 in second all out.

moral of my story is:
don't drive a ford, they're slow.
Disclaimer.
(excluding some fox bodies old men with old fords and a very select few cobras)

^u forgot the gt, which is probably faster than the new z06 on a track. but then again, the only thing on that ford actually designed was the engine.

no, the GT is a very clean car. not mustang gt, just so we all make this clear. yes, it's overpriced, but i'd still love to own one.

yeah i meant the Ford GT made as a street GT40 car. but like i said they didn't really design anything on it.

Mustangs aren't so bad... If they're supercharged. The 99-04 GT model sounds good, I don't know what they did with the new ones cause they sound like shit IMHO.

I had an 05 with a manual tranny and it ran pretty good. 13.65 bone stock and 11.80 @ 118 with 4.10 gears, Airaid intake, Summit offroad x-pipe, custom tune, Magnaflow Magnapac exhaust, M/T 295/45/17 drag radials and a 125 shot. Those cars wheelhop bad, but once you get that under control launching is golden.

I have thought about getting a newer one, I always liked the older 5.0's. I know ford was trying to make the newer ones quiet, I'm sure yours sounded awesome with the magnaflows. The new ones are pretty fast in their own right stock but you have to do a lot to them to get them any faster.

^ i don't consider them that fast considering they are in the same price range as ours were but are slower AND 10 years newer. 10 years is a long time.
