cost was not an issue in this post at all.
vette owners generally dont really care what you will or wont say about them.
if you wanted cheap speed, in 01-02, the f-body was the way to go.
if you wanted refined speed, the y body was the way to go.

I actually get more excited when I see a Trans Am on the road than a C5 (the new C4 ). Sorry, I like the Trans Am better. If I wanted a Vette, I'd have one plain and simple. LS7 Vette is different story tho but hell that's a $80,000 car vs a $27,000 car.

the question was which car should he get, he can obviously afford both cars. that being said if you want the more single car get the vette if you drive it all the time and carry alot of crap along with it pick up the ws6. they are both great cars and both will get you plenty of ass. Personally if ur single and dont want to do any mod's to "catch up to somthing" grab the vette.

    Smile Whoa!

Well....in short....the question was referring to firebird or vette pure and simple. I know for some guys money is no object, but for me it kinda is . I know the cars are on similar drivetrains and that the vette carries more prestige, but if the bird can achieve similar power then why not the bird? (1998-2002)

What I do know is that some people will put enough cash in their bird that they could have gotten a vette. I am guessing that this is where preferrence kicks in.

I live in Chicago and someone said it earlier...in this city corvettes can be seen at a dime a dozen. Surprisingly, it's very rare to see a WS6 on these streets.

I just wanted to know what makes a person choose WS6 over a vette and vice-versa.

In '01, I looked at buying a corvette. Test drove one, had the hardest time getting in and out. Harder then the WS6. Don't get me wrong I liked the corvette but decided to test drive a WS6. Drove one off the showroom floor, fell in love with it. There is just something about the WS6 I liked better. The corvette has the "image" but MY opinion the WS6 has the "it" factor. After all I'm married and not worried about picking up girls! lol Also, I have the money to buy either but prefer the bird.

I have talked to alot of young people who could afford the vette but wants the bird. Just a matter of what you want.

Why are you calling a f-body a joe dirt mullet mobile. You are driving one!

I have had many F-Body's - never had a Vette. Not that I wouldn't mind having one, I just never have. At first, it was likely a cost issue, I was young and didn't have the money. Now, I have kids and like to take more than one other person with me. But..... I suspect there is an underlying reason that I am partial to F-Body's.....

I like what someone else said..... let's get both!

    Two main reason for me:

    1. In my opinion (my friend with a vette will always disagree with me), the WS6 just looks bad ass...I love everything about it, the abnormal intake (looks scarry as shit from the front), the wing (not too big, but still there to offset the slopping back-end), the front lights are perfectly placed (I love driving around with just the fog lights on and the headlights down (even in the day), cause it looks menacing (sp?) as hell.

    2. The $10k less I spent on my WS6 versus my friends '98 Vette leaves me with a lot of money to upgrade what I have, which I'm doing this spring.

if money is an issue go with the ws6, unless you plan on doing some stupid ass driving you dont need the vett for handling, for me i dont do any of that tokyo drift shit or in and out of lane driving so i dont need to have the better handling because when you buy a vett over a bird thats basically wut your payin more for. oo, and now the vett guys are guna say, "we also have window motors and headlight motors that work!!!"
