I've had the "Is that a new corvette?" question asked alot because mine is pretty mild looking:

I kind of see it if I squint my eyes ....

Maybe after drinking a 20 case of beer, and looking from a mile away.

Sorry, they are too different to even consider that they look the same. IMO

i know that's a formula, but for some reason...i think Trans am has always tried to look better than the Vette...maybe it's jealousy, since pontiac wanted the corvette chasis to build the firebird on....and got the 'maro chasis instead.

To the untrained eye apparently they are close enough since I'm not the only one that has gotten the compliment.

To me the Firebird looks much better than the Vette. I love the look !!
Full rear tail lights (mine are sequencial), Hidden front lights, performs almost as good for less than half the price.
It also has four seats / lots of cargo room for those long trips that I love to take in her. Or, for short runs to the store with the Nephews and Brother in Law. We love it !!! Plenty of room for two golf bags, carts, luggage, my birds in their cage, etc.... Unfortunately, you can't have that in a Vette.

I'm thinking about dropping a Supercharged LS3/LS7 in mine soon depending on the complications. Or, just beefing the heck out of my LS1 and Supercharging it. Strength will be my goal and I think the LS7 wins there.

I have more than enough power in my Firebird for the street so It's just a upgrade to me.

For the track I'm finishing up my mods on my '67 Camaro. I only have some Computer / CPU work to finish. Then I'll have 850HP+ and a 9 sec car for the track. It's a lot cheaper to build an old Camaro to this power level than the new ones. I have less than $20K in her at this point.

Hum so, that means, I have two great cars for the price of a Vette. I wonder if he planned that?

I get the Camaro thing every now and then but, I'm happy that they are at least in the ball park.

I just tell them: "Well, its a Trans Am but, you're close"

One of my new college buddies who tries to pretend he knows cars, he was riding with me for the first time, and was impressed.... I had cutouts closed and was babying it, he asked what size motor?

so i just said oh just a 3.8l four cylinder......

Yea my buddy had one just like this, same motor....

(Im trying not to laugh at this point)Oh? yea they move right along....

Yea you cant beat the torque of those 3.8s.....(Im bout in tears on the inside now) but it sounds good for a 3.8...

Yea I did a little exhaust work to it....

    Like what?

Oh new muffler, new tips nothing major....

    How long of tips?

    What?

How long are your tips? the longer they are the better it echos giving it better sound....

Oh, they are telescoping, to change the sound i just hit this switch (dual cutouts)....

Whoa them really work....i was thinkin bout getting some for my focus......you cant beat the sound from high displacement motors....

At this point i bounced into 2nd and hammered it and was instantly sideways, so i let out and it snapped back....Yea lots of power....

Whoa to you got a cold Air kit?

Nah not yet, the V-tec just kicks in about then....

Yea v-tech will grab ya like that.....

At this point i changed the subject cuz wow this kid knew nothing....
