just informed by a local officer here (owned a 99 z28) that there was no traffic law against doing a burn out (at least in upstate ny). The only thing they can get you for is street racing...he used some different terminology but that was the gist of it. All my crazy burnouts tend to happen when he's in the car anyway!

I have been pulled over for it before, but coincidentally i have never received a ticket for it. Its always something else and the officer threatens me with an "unsafe start ticket" then writes me for no front plate!

i love traffic laws and honda civics with with racing stripes....

And I thought MN was the only douche bag state that has the mandatory front plate law. What a crock of shit that is!

Yes I agree. I lived in Texas for 4 years and I got like 3 tickets for no front plate. It's nonsense.

As many of the others have suggested, stick with your current approach -- the attorney. The $450 fee you're paying the attorney will pay for itself many times over versus just paying the ticket.

I've had my share of moving violations. While it hurts to absorb the costs up front, it's certainly nice to be able to enjoy low insurance rates (zero points) for my SS and my Corvette.

LOL...One time this girl I picked up at a bar was driving my old Ram SS/T (I was drunk BTW). She pulled off from a red light and passed a cop in the other lane with the back tires smoking like a forest fire (she was a really smart blond!) She got a ticket for laying drag and I got one for no proof of insurance (I was just too drunk to find it!) She was all upset about because the cop told her it was like $400...I told her not to worry about it I would take care of it. She was very appreciative to say the least! The next day I just threw her ticket in the garbage and I never talked to her again! lol I bet she was supprised as hell the next time she got pulled over and found out she had a warrent out on her for failure to appear. lol

And for what its worth...I would try to do what ever I could so it wouldnt go on my record. Besides the insurance thing, if you ever need to change jobs it wouldnt look good on your record at all.

Here in Ontario, Canada, they call it stunt driving now...and yes, it is a bad thing. I've never been caught for it, but it shure does add some fun to the driving of these cars!

Well I got lucky guys, The county sent me the info on what my optons were and they sent me the papers for the deferral program. I know I am not eligeable b/c of my cdl but I paid the deferral and they approved of it. Now all I have to do is obey the traffic law for 6 months and after that the ticket is discarded like it never happened. My record will remain clean with no offences. I only had to pay 30 dollars more than the ticket for the deferral so, I paid 160 total instead of 450 and court costs for a lawyer.
