I sure hope you don't mean the DTM tips that are used on VWs.

Since my car is driven about 10k/year, the stock tips would sometimes scrape on the bottom over big dips or steep driveways. I was going to get some bigger, 3.5" single rolled tip slash cut, then decided against it since they would scrape more often and possible get all f'd up. So, I bought some stainless 1970 GTO 2.5" dual slant cut rolled tip, they look nice and fill the panel a lot better than the OE stuff. In hindsight, I think if these were the same except 3", it would have been perfect. They are long enough that you have to get down and look to see where they split.

Are the GTO tips the ones that you can get from PYPES?

How much are you lowered? At stock height, there is no way our tips will contact the road surface, even on steep inclines or in road dips. If they do, that means I have bigger things to worry about than the tips!

Yes, them's the ones. I like 'em because they are stainless, and I bought them from Jeg's for around $75.

I'm not lowered. Somtimes I think the car is higher than others LOL.

I've backed into things before, like rocks or high curbs, that's usually how it happens. Or backed up, and a rear tire went into an unseen hole.

Do you have a pic of the tips on the car. I have been thinking about getting a pair of those myself.

So here are the Pypes 1970-71 GTO 2.5" slant, rolled tip stainless steel tips on Too Fast:

I took these pictures today, about 1:00. The sun was directly overhead, so it was hard
to get a good picture. They don't stick out far, but in these photos it might look that
way. Stainless won't quite shine like a chrome tip does, but it won't rust.

Yeah I waffled quite a bit about single large chrome tips or the dual style. What made my mind up was remembering a few times that I already had scraped the OE tips, so I didn't want anything really big. Your tips look good.
