Collector Edition Yellow- 2002 Trans Am CETA# 861
Exhaust Questions
I am looking to upgrade my factory exhaust situation... low rumble not enough stares... and I am looking at filling that ass end of my CETA Vert. The Borla cat back exhaust part#14780 seems sweet and I love THEM Quad Tips.... questions are:
1) Does anyone have this setup and can confirm install fitment? I was told that some manufactures exhaust for Trans Ams 5.7L differ slightly and or don't fit the Verts.
2) How does it sound? Does anyone have it on their Vert or Coupe that can tell me how sweet it sounds?

Id go with magna flow. With the money you would save youd have enough to get long tube headers as well. On another note one of my friends as Borla and it sounds good. Just not worth the money imo.

I have the quad tip magnaflow setup. Mild deep sound and best looking quad tips on the market, imo. However, I'm not impressed with the "stainless steel" of the system. Mine has quite a lot of corrosion/rust on everything but the tips.

I've always like the Borla kit personally... Never been able to afford it but, have heard it in person and love it.
Nothing against the Magnaflow kit as I have had Magnaflow products on previous vehicles and really like their stuff but, I like how the Borla kit sounds more aggressive (imo) and is also adjustable!1999 Firehawk Trans Am #530

The Borla is great and won't rust like the Magnaflow. Both are stainless steel but the magnaflow is 409 SS while the Borla is 304 SS. The 409 will surface rust but shouldn't rust through. 304 SS way more resistant to that. And when comparing the quad tip Magnaflow to the Borla, the prices are closer then most think.
One warning though, the Borla sounds raspy with LTs and ORY but will sound awesome with stock manifolds and stock catted y.
Here's some pics of mine
And another one I came across

Another vote for Borla. I had it prior to my CME/GMMG combo. I miss the sound of the Borla. I also miss the looks of it.

I actually like the Corsa clone tips from afterthoughts auto look good on a TA. As far as the muffler it's all personal and depends how much else you have done. Mufflers chance sound with LT's and ory drastically just like with factory exhaust the Magnaflow is to quite but sounds good with no cats.

This is how the magnaflow dual tips look. I love them because they look very "non ricer" if that makes sense hahaha.

Magnaflow was described to me as: 'just a little louder than stock but flows much better than stock'......is that about right?

So now the new debate, I am crossed between the Corsa & the Borla Quads. Anyone have any info on the Corsa? Some sound clips and rear end views would be excellent on a WS6.
