Only time i had a noise like that it was a motor mount. Only way to know is to drive it. See how it does under load and letting off the throttle.

07 Chevy Corvette- 2004 Pontiac GTO
well I got a video of it and it is a different noise than on the phone. It does change with rpm. It could be lifters or racker arms. it sounds bad. I emailed it to pajeff, he will post it if the email went through correctly. I am not sure how to post it up here.

That's pretty loud! I honestly have no idea, but I wouldn't guess a bent push rod or stuck lifter. Too bad you can't tell if it's coming from the top half of the motor or bottom half. Big price difference there.

Guess I should have checked the thread before uploading the video. Looks like you got it all figured out. For future reference, simply mouse over the pic or vid in your Photobucket account and some codes will appear beneath it. Left click on the [IMG] code and it will say "copied". Then, in your post on here, right click and select "Paste". Then the vid (or pic) will appear in the post rather than a link, as shown below. You may also want to set your Photobucket account to private to avoid any potential issues.

Bright Rally Red- 2001 Chevy Camaro Z28
For all the work the car has purportedly had done to it, it looks relatively stock under the hood.

I personally would look elsewhere. Lots of better LS1's out there with no mechanical issues in that price range.
