whne you get a dyno tune, what exactly do they do??

depends. they can optimize fuel and timing curves, adjust fan switch stuff with a lower thermostat, shift points, rear gear, and all sorts of stuff
pretty much anything electricaly controlled, they can alter with the proper equiptment

you go in.. the pull your rear tires up to it.. strap it down.. get the fan in front.. tuner gets his comp hooked up and all that stuff, they get in, he does some initial tuning before you ever even start.. tunes you for yours gears, idle, shift points and stuff like that.. .. you stand and watch the computer your car is dynoed..(basically kicked to redline..) anxiously awaiting numbers.. it pops up everything thats on a dyno number... you smile or frown.. the tuner says something along the lines of.. "uh huh, well your a little rich right there, lets see if we can lean it out a little and get some more out of it.."
think i covered it all.. usually about 3 pulls or so..

is it worth it to get a tune if you have a stock m6, is there enough parameters to make it worth it if you don't have plans of engine mods in the near future

if you are going to put anything on within 6 months i wouldnt get one.. if its gonna be 6 months or longer then id probably do it... you will free up a few more horses and tq. and you will probably get better gas mileage and stuff... can change if its rich/lean whatever..
honestly, just depends on if you got an extra 300~ish to blow on picking a few more ponies up, or if you wanna use that on and intake, gears, nitrous, etc. then get a tune..
