DTC Code

My T/A is showing DTC code of P0430- "Catalyst Sys Efficiency below threshold (bank 2)" Anyone know what this means??

rear o2 or your cat is going bad..clogged cat more than likely.

bank 2 is the passenger side btw

I had the same code. It was passenger side cat.
Most of the ls1. Or all the ones I seen. Is the passenger side cat with problems

how many miles on your car? The cat warranty was extended for the 00-02 cars to 10years 100k miles.

When I called gm for mine. They said the warranty was 80k miles or 8 years

there are vin breaks on the warranty.....the info can be found in post 13 of this thread

I told them bout the warranty. 10 years or 120k miles I belive?
And the guy stayed quiet. And he said NO it's only 80k miles
Then they asked if I bought the car with them
I told them no.
They said it was the only way ti find out if it had warranty or no

they're blowing smoke...does your vin fall in the break points?

as long as you met the mileage and year at the time that should've been under warranty. I *think* warranty starts at the time the car is sold initially. The person to ask about this is Cutlass since he works at a dealership. Did you pay them to fix it? If so and you saved the receipt you might be able to get reimbursed for the work.

81500 is the mileage. I have plans to lose the cats when i get the headers installed but that wont be for a while due to buying a house. so I am going to take it to the dealer. Sooooo glad I asked this question before I did anything about it. Thanks everone!!

That VIN comes up as 2000 Blazer. Whats the full VIN #?

You live in FL one of the greatest placest for performmance cars. No state inspections. get some LT headers and a Off road ypipe. I lived it in FL when I came to TX I have to find shady inspectors that takes tips to pass most of my cars. I actually put the factory cats back on my 5.0 for emmisions testing since my friend was outta town and I needed all the paperwork to get the registation. Where you live dump the cats and you won't have anymore headache down the road.
