Drunk Drivers
So yesterday I was inside the house on my laptop when I hear this wreck outside. I was thinking "Please dont be my car". I rushed outside in my boxers to see this drunk guy in his truck. Before I even say anything he starts telling me how sorry he is. I ignore him and walked right to my trans am. He messed up the whole rear quarter panel on the passenger side. Broke my Zr1 rims, and hit the passenger side mirror. I walk up to him and ask if he was drunk. He said he was. As soon as I heard that I entered kick "ass mode" without any control of my own. I started yelling saying "what if little kids where in the F****** street you bastard". My little brothers had standing there a few minutes before they left for the park. I just kept yelling, I am usually quiet and this is totally out of character for me as you guys know. He said he would pay for it just dont call the cops. Well, I called the cops. He tried to put the blame on me saying if I call them I will be putting him in jail. Bitch, you put yourself in jail by drinking it was around 5 something, which is way to early to be drinking. The cops ended up taking him to jail. I am just glad he is off the streets.
Notice part of my rim in his tire. Terrance pointed that out to me when we were wondering where the pieces were.

Does the asswipe drunk have the means to compensate you, i.e., does he have insurance?

The truck he was driving was insured, so hopefully things will go smoothly.

I have no tolerance for drunks, and i'm glad you don't either. I'm glad you called the cops and got that idiot off the road. Sorry about your T/A, but it looks like a fairly easy fix. I'm just glad he didn't hit a person. Only problem is that when he gets out, he'll go back to drinking and next time it may very well be a person he hits and kills. I wish there was harsher punishments for drunk driving.

Yeah, Im glad it wasnt worst. New fender, new rim, along with painting the rear bumper and she will be good as new! His license was suspended for drinking and driving. So this is his second strike.

its good you have your priorities straight though. first thought is about the children in the neighborhood. second MY CAR! lol hopefully he will stay away from your area while drunk and you can have your bird back on the road soon
kudos keeping your temper in check...seeing as over half of us would have probably taken a few shots at him before the police show up

Shouldn't have a problem your parked and he's wasted so it's obvious who's fault it was so no issue there. The damage really isn't that severe so you don't have to worry about them totaling it. Just self a favor and find a good independant shop and stay away from dealership shops took 2 month to get my x's moms accord fixed with less damage since they didn't pay attention to details. Their usually underpaid anyway.

Sucks to see when this stuff happens. Ticks me off especially when the car is in the driveway. Hope you get the car back to normal and the drunk driver gets what he deserves.

That sucks. At least you were home and heard it. And, glad you didn't kick his ass, would've felt good. I have heard, tho, in situations like that, if you would've kicked it, you may not have gotten anything from his insurance. Something about you already got your payback, by doing physical harm to the guy.
Oh, I think it'll buff out. Won't hardly see the dent that way.
