    DRL Socket Replacements

Which sockets have you guys used to replace the factory ones in our cars? I've read that some of them have mix matched wire colors and heard of some other issues as well. I will be replacing my DRL housings and I am going to swap the sockets "at least the driver side one" while I'm at it because its pretty fried.

I have used ac delco on the passenger side. All the wires were white but atleast they were labeled with a letter.

You can buy a new one and disassemble it so you dont have to cut or splice anything. It really depends on whats bad on your original ones but i've had luck just swapping out the outer socket and reusing the inner guts.

The driver side socket is fried and melted pretty good...the DRL housing has a small crack in the bottom corner so water can get in it pretty easily. I just ordered a new set of housings today. I seldom ever drive my car in the rain, but the damage was already done when I got it so I need to fix it.

The driver side bulb illuminates when I turn on the fog lights but the blinker doesn't work because the car doesn't recognize the bulb is in the socket. It also won't light up when I have just the DRL's on. If I unscrew the socket and apply pressure to the bulb while it's in the socket the blinker will work with no issues and it will light up like its supposed to. Since I've figured that out I know it's getting power with no issues. Just has a problem establishing a connection.

    The passenger side is fine.
