NAVY BLUE METALLIC- 02' WS6 TRANS AM
Does anyone remember?
Help!!!
My stupid anntena stopped going down when I turn off my car. I think it finally gave out! I tried to look for the link where someone posted the same question.... but no luck!
Do anyone of you guys know if there's a fix it yourself way or do I have to take it to the dealer for that!

Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS6
I changed my antenna over the weekend, its very easily done and i found out the motor wasnt the problem with mine. So i now possibly have an extra antenna.

Blue 1997 Trans Am(Sold)- Pewter 2001 Trans Am Vert
The first thing I ever did to my TA was unplugged the antenna motor so it stays down. Obviously reception is worse however I NEVER listen to the radio in my TA so it really doesn't bother me. Just my opinion.

Mine crapped out a few years back. I just pulled the thickest part of the antenna up and forced the two smaller poles down to give it a lower look. Still have perfect reception.

Mine is kinda like yours chuckie. My antenna works except when I turn the car off the antenna starts goin down but stops like 3-4" from going flush. Im not quite sure what it is.

Yeah tha't exactly what happend with mine... it goes about 3/4 of the way down then stops. I know its not the motor because i hear it whenever i turn my car on/off so I'm sure it's gotta be something else.
I read somewhere there's supposed to be a wire in there that usually breaks.... Does anyone know if there's a write up in here on how to replace that? It sucks having to be pushing my antenna down with my hand everytime I get out of my car!

Most likely the wire for you guys if you can still hear the antenna motor running when turning on/off your car. Is it possible that your antenna got slightly bent? That might cause it to get stuck or prematurely wear out the lifting mechanism.
High speeds + 6ft tall antenna = slight bending?

I think they were right about some kind of wire. I bench tested the antenna I have and it works fine, yet when I hook it up it does not work. So there must be a wire somewhere that is cut or isnt hooked up correctly.

Never heard of a wire, mine stopped working from living in MA(ice+power antenna=stuck).
I just bought a new one from ws6 store and took about 10 min to install, works like new.1998 Trans Am 85k miles.
