It's easier for the factory to put in a standard wire harness for all vehicles. Once they determine if it will be a TCS or no TCS all they have to do is plug it in. It's less expensive in the long run to do it that way then to go back, tear the car down, insert item x and then put it back together.

    All the manufactures do this.

You don't want or need TCS.

That's exactly what it does. It basically controls braking power to the wheels for you....which in most cases where people know how to drive themselves, want to control that, not the PCM.

i do have TCS on my 30th Ann. TAm. In normal driving, I mostly see it activate on very tight turning on-ramps, or on damp corners under throttle. It detects wheel spin and kills the throttle.... i havent felt the brakes activate, but maybe. For sport driving, yeah, you'd turn it off anyway.

Attempting a burnout with TCS activated is always a major fail. I have done that at least twice in our car.

Hence why I didn't buy a car with TCS. Since I knew I would forget to turn it off. Plus it just makes the engine bay look that much junkier.

My car labels it as ASR; anti-slip regulation.
