the t/a hoods are weaker than the camaro hoods, this is why you get "torque dimples" and camaro's don't.

They actually show up on the rear quarters and not the hood.
Its from the body flexing from torque. Subframe connectors are a must.

Hitting the axle stoppers can also cause these. I've even seen the 6ers with the dimples and they sure ain't from stock torque..

Also I think if we want it to be extra strong in those areas it needs to be seam welded. Again my oppy.

Whatever it takes to push a full wieght TA with a iron block to 11.91 at 116 MPH.
Dont have numbers with the Frost SD tune, But I KNOW its better then the tune I got from a shop here in Michigan.
Old numbers where 416 RWHP and 375 RWTQ. So nothing too crazy in the power department.

Mine on the support bar for the roof, i think i had the tops out and used a floor jack to change the oil and thats alot of flexing, little dipples/bubbles are showing up.

Not to diminish all you guys who have "body rippling torque", but I would venture to guess the "dimples" he is talking about are the ones that appear where the front corner edge of the fender meets the corner of the bumper cover

again no, those fenders arent metal so they wont get dents. its the quarter panels guys the only metal panels on our cars, the part in between the doors and the rear bumper. the dents appear around the wheel wells
edit: in fact, if you look at the above picture you can see where the horizon reflecting off of the paint gets obscured in the area i'm talking about.Last edited by justinmc978; 02-12-2010 at 04:59 PM.

Yes I know. But not all T/A's and Camaro's have "torque dents" on the quarters. ALL T/A's have the bumper dimples, a lot of other GM cars have them too. The reason: design flaw, the same reason the door panels crack on the T/A's. The fender has a tab on it that fits into a slot on the bumper cover to hold the two together, the fender is a thicker, more rigid material than the bumper cover. When you put the two together the corner of the fender pulls in, and gives it that little dimple you see. Look closely, they all do it.
