Depends on the parts.
But there is no difference between the motors themselves.

I watched a old car and driver video on the 98 camaro's and they said that the corvettes ls1 came with 45 more hp not sure if its true though

gm said the 98 corvette had 345 hp and the 98 camaro z28 had 305, but i have seen dyno reports of the camaro making 277.8 rear wheel horsepower and 295.3 lb-ft torque which makes flywheel horsepower (what is advertised in brochures and magazines) around 347 and torque 369 lb-ft. this information from the Dec.2005 issue of GM High Tech Performance magazine.

Though there are small differences F-body to Vette (namely camshaft for `98-00) Their not enough to show a power gain over one another. All LS1's `97-04 make approx 345-350 HP.
An LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1Craig

Also dont forget the pedestal GM places the Vette on. It always has to be the fastest/most hp car in GM production. So even though Camaros/Firebirds are underrated hpwise, they still have about the same but GM wants the vette to seem better.

Yep, GM has always been an outright liar with the HP numbers.
The '89 Turbo Trans Am was rated at 250--5 less than the '89 Vette, and that was a farce. The Anniversary Trans Am made the '89 Vette its bitch in the real world.

i checked my facts and I AM WRONG. you are correct. not sure how i became so misinformed, prob listened to one of my idiot friends. ill be sure to check my facts next time.
courtsy of Chevy LS1/LS6 Performance i quote "The power increase for the 2001 LS1 was directly attributable to the integration of the LS6 manifold on both platforms." both platforms meaning the f-bodies and vettes.
