And as far as the T/A's cut-off speed, that all dependeds on what type tires were on the car when it left the factory. You can look on the inside of the door at that sticker. If it came with z-rated tires you won't have that 130mph? cut off that they were talking about earlier
Just to clarify the rear gearing question:

    ALL M6 equipped f-bodies (except maybe the '93s) came w/ 3.42 gears.

    The "standard" gear for A4 equipped V8 f-bods was 2.73, and 3.23s were a cost-option.

SS and WS6 (and probably 'Hawks) A4 cars "required as a mandatory option" the 3.23 rear gears. This is why the sticker $ on otherwise equivalently-optioned SS/WS6s was higher for the A4 than the M6 (A4 was "standard" on V8 f-bods, M6 was a no-cost "option").

The "factory Hurst shifter" that was available in '99+ was an option on ANY M6 equipped f-bod, and was NOT included as "standard" in the SS/WS6 packages.

This is true, at least for the '98s & '99s. It may have been included on non- SS/WS6 cars later on (I'm not positive on the '00-'02s).

BadBlueBuggy and 99vader have the suspension story correct. The suspension differences between WS6 and non-WS6 cars was watered down in the later years.

The engine assembly in WS6/SS and non-WS6/SS cars is EXACTLY the same (for a given year), the only performance differences are due to the intake (raised airbox on WS6s and CAI on SS/WS6s) and exhaust. So any stories you hear about SS or WS6 engines having special cams or intake manifolds is BS.

No special coolers from the factory for trans or oil in any f-bod as far as I know.

yeah your right, i must be thinking of the vette or something. I dug up my broucheur, apparently it was an option(the ps cooler) on even regular TAs and there is APPARENTLY 2 different packages, the WS6 Package(Ram Air Performance and Handling Package) and another package (performance Suspension Package - for "serious enthusiasts") But you need one to get the other. Wow, I was under the impression it all came together!

That sounds like its referring to the 1LE package. In '98, it was offered only on Formula and "required" the WS6 option, and A4 was not available w/ 1LE. Not sure what the 1LE package details were in '99+.

I'm pretty sure the RPO code is "1LE". They ARE pretty rare, only a couple handfulls each year in '98-'00. And considering you couldn't order 1LE on a T/A (only on Formulas for the LS1 years, I'm not sure what 1LE was or wasn't available on prior to '98), those would be infinately rare (non-existant).

Thats correct, also all 02 T/A's Ws6 or not got the Power Steering cooler. I guess GM needed to get rid of all those extras they had sitting around. Since that was the end of the road for the F-body

    Differences between the f-body years
the '01-'02 are WS6, the earlier 98-00 have ws6 (ram air, lid, suspension) as optional.

I really hope you are not trying to imply that all '01-'02 TAs came "standard" with WS6 and are somehow different (from that option package costing extra perspective) than the '98-'00s. I thought we had clarified that over on this other thread.

Here's and intersting tidbit for you guys.

The 1LE suspension option was $1,175
It automaticaly included the WS6 option $3,150 and a -$1,125 delete package
That eliminated all standard power interior and radio Options, so in effect the option costs $50

    Standard Formula $22,865
    WS6 option $ 3,150
    1LE option $1,175
    Delete package -$1,125
    Total $26,065

This is the cost for a show room stock Race Car in 1998,
Manual Locks Roll up Windows and No Monsoon Radio
Only 14 were built in `98 not sure about `99-`00

Also some minor engine upgrades along with exhaust with a hurst short throw shifter... One of the biggest upgrades to the WS6 is obviously the Ram Air hood which adds 25hp est. but only wen moving (duh)
