    2000 Trans Am

    Did you notice a difference?

    Did you notice a difference going from 3.23 to 3.73 gears in an auto? Anyone that has done it please let me know what kind of gains or affects you felt. Can't decide wether to go with 3.73 or 3.90!! Any suggestions would help!
    2000 Arctic White trans am, ws6 hood, ws6 air box, slp lid, slp smooth bellows, slp loudmouth exhaust,shift kit, rebuilt trans, LS6 intake, 3.73 gears, Shaner S3 p/p throttle body, and a tune . SFC. C6 ZO6 rims 18" in back 17" in front. Drilled and slotted rotors.

    Yes I have noticed a difference. Before I used to be able to drop into 2nd at about 75 mph but now It's about 60. Safely. Acceleration was definately up and didn't notice much of a change in gas mileage

    Yes, nice difference ! 3.73's seem to be the street gear choice. I'm now running 4.10's and I think it's still pretty street freindly. ( A4 ) But, I mostly only run at the track any more with it.

    friend did the swap.... unless you have extra money i wouldnt do it... he said he didnt feel that much of swap... but thats what i was told from him... have heard 73s are the choice though got a guy that went from those to 410s and he switched back out to 73s... just a preference i guesS??
