decals lettering

This is a discussion on decals lettering within the Firebird / WS6 forums, part of the Vehicle Specific category; Just ordered vinyl overlays for the lettering on the side of my Formula............... Is there anything special I should know ...

    Just ordered vinyl overlays for the lettering on the side of my Formula...............



    Is there anything special I should know before putting them on?

    I installed the PONTIAC letter on the rear bumper of my TA a year or so ago. Easy install and look great. Don't be shy about wetting them down. They'll take a little longer to dry but it will give you more "work time" with them.

    98 T/A w/a little mods...

    mix soap & water in a squirt bottle. like mention above wet it down. Use a plastic straight edge to squeeze the water out.

    I would probably wipe them down with a wax & grease remover before installation... just make sure that it is "paint friendly". Absent that, a good scrubbing with some household dish detergent should work.

    Thanks a lot, this is what I thought.

    1) Remove wax that is on car.
    2) Mist with clear water, then apply vinyl letters and squeegee.
    3) Let dry.
    4) Rewax about 3 or 4 days later.

    If there's any steps I missed, please tell me.
