Custom Vinyl Hatch Insert
A nice addition to the rear hatch of my ws6.. I can't stand the cheap looking gray carpet crap in the back of T/As and camaros so I picked up this piece of vinyl/foam from work.. Worked great and the color of the vinyl matches perfectly w/ the black leather and plastic panels already in the car. I'm working on covering the panel that covers the t-top storage area right now, so I'll post some more pics when its all done.

Good job. A welcomed change for an F-Body. Be different I say.

Just finished the panel.. Getting a little dark out though and my camera on my phone sucks, so I'll try to take some better pictures in the sun tomorrow.

Black/ Silver- 98 TA WS6/ 01 C5 Corvette
That's really cool I'd definately buy that if you sold it. Would be interested in finding out how you did it, been considering doing something similar but I don't know how to do that stuff.

Well as I mentioned I picked up the part 'as is' from my work. Its actually a backwall panel that would go in the back (sleeper area) of an 18 wheeler that I cut to the size I need. Kinda similar to the image.. But to give you a brief explanation, the vinyl is layed out over a piece of .5" foam and a piece of cardboard.. It goes through a dielectric press that essentially melts the vinyl to the foam and carboard, creating the patterned lines. I ended up taking the cardboard backing off and just using the vinyl/foam as it was easier to work with and stretch into the hatch area. I then measured, cut the part, and used velcro on the back of the vinyl to hold it in place since it hooks great to the cheap carpet material already in the back . . hope that helps a little, I cant go into too many details lol. Pic @ bottom is the raw part I started with
