    Sadly now demodded :(

I'm interested in this also as the CC hasn't worked on the 98 since I've owned it. It's the only thing on this car (182,xxx miles) that doesn't work (or that I haven't been able to readily repair).

I fear in my case it's the turn signal stalk (which is the most expensive and most PITA part of the CC to replace).

Maybe it'll work for the OP. I hope for your sake it is as this is the easiest, cheapest fix.

In my case: Been there; done that...

In my experience with GM cars, its usually the cruise control module box under the hood.

sometimes if you side step the clutch it will hit the clutch switch hard enough to knock it back a few threads. since it is only plastic including the threads it dosn't take much, an it anticipates you stepping on the clutch there for will shut the cruise control off so you don't rev to the moon..

If you have a M6 the most likely problem is switch that is located just behind the clutch pedal at the top.

It goes for about $19 on gmpartsdirect.com

You can see it in this diagram

It is the first place that needs to be checked. Also the break pedal has one too. These are made of cheap plastic and with the constant action of pedal in and pedal out it becomes brittle over time.

The break pedal has the same sensor at the top of the pedal also. I would still check it out first.
