what i would do is go to a junk yard and get some out of a firebird and take out the staple where the crack is and just have those as spares

F-bodies don't exist in junkyards around here, they get torn to pieces before they hit the lot. I could try Billy Graham's but that SoaB sells his stuff as high as brand new parts.

GM won't issue a recall because it's not a safety problem. They could care less if our cars fall apart that's why they use cheap ass parts to put them together. Thank your stars you don't own mine. Roof bubbling, headlights shot, door panels cracked, a/c knobs broke, dash is cracked, clutch collapsed (just replaced), and I think that's about it for now until something else goes wrong. Engine is great. Not much out there that can run with our cars.

Wow, this thread is scary. I have never seen this condition before on our cars. I hope this isn't something I need to worry about down the road.

I just hope someone picks up all necessary rights to be able to continue making parts...YearOne, Classicindusteries,etc..

Parts in general even now are getting harder to find (and of course the prices continue to soar)

year one is a rip off....they want like 50 bucks for three a/c knobs. I found them elsewhere for about 8 bucks a piece.

Same here- both doors cracked, dash cracked, tail light condensation... man if there's a common issue, my 'Hawk has it. I'm thinking of having my door panels upholstered- gotta be less expensive than replacing and I can custom cover them. If I ever get that far, I'll post pics (I'm dealing with a dozen other mechanical issues first!)

Both of mine are cracked as well. Putting some decal or emblem over the repaired cracks was a thought, I just haven't found anything that looks good enough yet.

Yeah, my door panels cracked too. I got replacements, had to use a multi-junkyard search engine looking through tons of inventory to find them in my color. I think I got ripped on the price but ah well. They were like 700 brand new from GM when they still made them and I didn't pay close to that so I am happy. Yeah, my passenger tail light cracked too. Passenger on all four of ours, odd... That was easy to find and replace.
