Starting to crack on the pass side its the plastic thats cracking.

as long as its not leaking coolant dont worry about it. our radiators are amazing. what plastic are you talking about?

Our radiators suck they are plastic sides glued to a metal center I am looking at getting a aluminum radiator all metal welded = strong + repairable our cars run hot from the factory the be cool claims a 20% drop in coolant temp [B]but i need to know if anyone is running this radiator and can i use my stock fans thank you

i dont think ive ever seen my temperature gauge move from 210.

Sup Jerzy? How are things? You should look into getting an LT1 radiator for your car. That is what I put in mine. Look for one at a junk yard that has low miles on it and pull it and have a shop install it. It fits pretty easily, and my car never gets over 170 degrees even in the summer (with a 160 T-Stat.) You can also have a switch installed to turn the fans on manually if you want to. It is fairly easy.

You do realize that aluminum does not dissipate heat as well as as copper dont you?

Aluminum is lighter than copper but because copper dissipates the heat better the copper radiator can be made thinner. The aluminum radiators are generally BIGGER because the material is lighter......

Its a catch 21. If the radiator is cracking though and leaks get a new one. No reason to spend 3X the cost of a new one though.

but the stronger aluminum allows you to make tighter bends and more of em in the tubing. allowing more surface area to transfer and dissipate heat. research it

You can have a shop "play" with your computer so both your fans turn on at a lower point. I had the have both mine come on at 180 degrees. Never got over that.

Hey Daniel, thanks for the advice on the lt1 radiator the ls1 radiator is 570 somthing at the dealer my price was 408 but I am going to just get the be cool radiator and make the best of my stock fans hopefully it wont be so bad.

And you won't.

99-02 had basicly a dummy gauge. Reads three temps total.
Warming up, warm, overheating.

Friend just installed his Be Cool. I will ask him....although he is blown and had clearance issues if I recall, so he needed to change some shit around anyways.

our stock radiators are not that bad at all, with a lower thermostat and retuned fans, they easily keep temps low, just depends on your thermostat and fan on temps....

Our radiators have a poor desighn from the factory plastic sides glued to a metal core.Plastic gets brittle after repeted heat cycles built to fail at some point all metal radiators can be welded why spend 500 + on somthing that will fail when you can spend the same money on an aluminum radiator that can be repaired if need be but if the stocker is not leaking then spend the money some place else

Well the install is straight forward as for my question about the stock fans the radiator has mounting slots welded to it so in theory you should be able to use the stock fans but it looks like a fight its realy tight. Its a little late for me to take pictures im like more than half way done.y You will need to bend your lower radiator suport to accept the larger radiator. Just try to take your time feness is the key.
