good question. it's around twice the price of a normal aftermarket lid, but what gains can you expect with that. and also can you expect to keep those gains with an aftermarket engine like a raptor or a ram air HO? I'd like to know myself cause I'm needing a lid myself.

I had one on my WS.6 it was nice but not worth the cost over a lid. I just got a lid for my Formula and put the extra money somewhere else.

I'm a Volant owner as well. I like it a lot, it performs just as good as a lid and maybe a little better based on some comparisons that I've found, and it looks nicer than a lid (except for maybe a smoked or clear lid with a ported TB). Plus, you can find them used for basically the same price as a new lid. I found mine on eBay without the filters. I bought those through K&N and ended up not spending more than a new lid.

I actually sold my old Volant for like $75. It only had one filter but the dude probably paid about $125 complete for it. I now have a clear lid and like the looks of it much better. Just looks cleaner IMO.

When I was in the market, I was initially looking for a smoked lid, but unfortunately, no one makes them anymore and trying to find a used one was next to impossible. I didn't like the clear ones as much as the smoked, but they looked pretty good too.

the only clear one I've found is from MTI, and it's like 129 bucks. a bit high but I guess you're paying for a look too.
