    Clutch pedal sticking 98 TA

Just trying to figure out where to start without hopefully paying a fortune to get this fixed. I've sucked the fluid out of the reservoir and refilled it probably 20 times now and it's still the same. Sometimes it wants to work correctly and then other times it sticks to the floor. Clutch pedal feels very soft too. I know this is common but just wanting opinions on where to start.
    Clutch slave, Clutch master?

The seals in the clutch master (push rod assembly) have failed....Was the old fluid black??...I had to replace my master...My slave was ok...It sucked having to pump up the clutch to take off from a stop..

you have a couple of options when getting the master.

Tick - cost more then an OEM, but well worth every penny
GMpartsdirect.com - a sponsor but if you get their Master it comes with the hydraulic clutch hose.
Auto parts stores - this option you will only get the master (no hydraulic clutch hose) and depending on the brand you could get a sub par replacement.

one more thing - after you get the master off the firewall, get a drill and find a bit that is one or 2 sizes larger in diameter. Open up the holes. This will give you some wiggle room when you go to install the new master. otherwise you'll have to put it dead on perfect for the U bolt to line up.

Yep same thing happened to me last week. Clutch pedal just got softer and softer throughout the whole day. So I did a slave and clutch kit/flywheel. Couldn't get it to bleed. I did the master and it bled in 10 minutes.
