    Clutch master rubber

    Any of you guys chuck the rubber piece in the reservoir? Its gumming up the fluid. In 2006 gm ditched this piece like in the gto.

    Still got mine. Did a full drain and fill about 5k miles ago and usually replace the fluid in my clutch every 10k so don't have that issue. I think if you remove it you may induce an air leak into the master as the rubber piece helps seal the cap to the plastic body. You can try to Oring it to seal it up better.

    I dont know what they were thinking with that boot. The boot does not have holes so it displaces a huge area leaving only a small area for fluid.

    Probably sourced from another model in the GM lineup because it was cheaper to make different boot sizes for fluid capacity You can now brag that your master cylinder reservoir is from a Geo Metro
