    Exclamation Church of all places.......

Ok so me and my family went to church this morning(we needed 2 vehicles) and i got there just fine and went to church. After it was over and me and my dad go to leave, i put the keys in the ignition and turn it over...........nothing! All of my guages work i've got Juice to the battery Everything seems to work, but it wont even turn over. The check engine light came on and the security light blinks.....IDK its never done this to me. anyone else ever have this problem? I really dont know what to expect. Any help or humor is appreciated.

do a search on the site for vats. Sounds like that's your problem. I bypassed mine last year. It would do the same thing but if I waited a couple of minutes ( I think it's 4 minutes) it would start up. I got some resistors and checked my key pellet and wired the resistors in on the module side and called it done. The difference is I don't remember my security light blinking. It would just light up I think.

If I remember right...it blinks when you try to start it a second time after it has been tripped.

I had to do the same thing as Orion.

Mine did this when the security chip on the key lost it's resistance. Only difference is the Security Light didn't blink it stayed solid.

Try your spare key and see if that does it.

yea so i got it fixed today..... it ended up being the PASS key or VATS whichever u want to call it. they did just what you guys did bypassed it. So now we are all good, and its easier to make new keys incase i lose one.

the last thing a theif is going to do is find the correct resistance for your VATS in the first place. They'd rather spend the 5 minutes grand total loadin your ish on a flatbed. if they want your car, they'll take it

I have had the same problem. The resistence chip, if dirty or wet, will not turn the ignition on. If the security light comes on you can do 2 things, wipe it off good to make sure it is clean and dry and if that does not work wait 10 minutes until it resets it's self then try to key again. Check it out in your driver's manual.
