1994 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM GT. They only made the GT one year and I have one of them. And yes I know my car is dirty.http://s900.photobucket.com/albums/ac205/Dave-TransAm/

Looks like a good start but what makes it a GT? I have heard of this before but never knew what the differances between that & a regular TA were.

    99 Trans am

I had a 94 T/A non GT model it had the trans am bumpers and all but had the firebird spoiler. Also the odometer on the base T/A's only went to 115mph even though they had the lt1 engine. I heard this was because they didn't have z rated tires from the factory.

    Catalog says!

I'm looking at my 1994 Pontiac showroom catalog and for the GT it says

"Trans Am his the street with a sleek shape and uniquely contoured nose. To this, Trans Am GT adds bodyside mouldings, a special GT spoiler, and wider, higher-performance P245/50ZR16 Goodyear Eagle GS-C tires. In either configuration, Trans Am is a sports car with the power to move you."

Comparing the option listings the GT also got the rear defogger, the keyless entry system remote, rear carpeted mats, uplevel 10 speaker stereo with steering wheel controls, 4 way manual front, driver/2-way manual front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, shift knob, and parking brake handle, performance 3.23 rear axle, all as standard items over the Trans Am.

    Good luck with your car!

Can't say that I've seen a TA without the leather either but looking at the 94 catalog it clearly shows that the leather was optional on the TA. I think the key may be that the GT got the uplevel stereo with the steering wheel with controls which also requires the leather stuff. Most TAs also were optioned with the uplevel stereo and ended up with the leather as a result.
