    Check engine light

Ive been looking at GTOs for myself. Well lastnight I went to a dealer to look at a 04 GTO and found a 01 ws6 TransAm that my wife had to have. The car looks good and drives good so we bought. Tonight the ck engine light came on and I ck the codes. I got a code P1416 for the bank 2 AIR system. Does anyone have any info on this code? Thanks in advance for any help.

"P1416- AIR System Bank 2 is the 'air pump check valve' on the passenger side. Autozone has them for $10."

    "yep,
P1416 is the air check check valve on the passenger side. They're cheep, replace both while you are doing it. The pipe and valve come off in one piece. Put it in a vise and twist the valve off and be carefull not to twist the pipe. After, reset the computer and you're done.
    have fun,
    Rob"

I was looking real close at the pipes after I posted the question and it looks like someone has replaced the valve already. How often do they go out?

    Thanks, Chase

If it was a GM dealership bring it back, or just clear the code/PCM and see if it returns. Not expensive and easy to replace yourself...think the going price for the check valve is higher than $10 now though.
