i remember photoshopping that pic, thanks for the compliment on how real it looks! lol the top isnt really painted on that car, but if you wanted to paint yours do it glossy black, look at a z28 camaro for an example. thiers are painted black.
dont worry about paint codes go to autozone to get a shaker can of FLAT, it must be FLAT black. glossy paint looks bad with the shaker can application, (and i dont like glossy for the CETA mod anyways,) it'll turn out great, helped a friend do it and it looked superb. just like factory, take your time, thin even coats, follow the instructions on the can.Last edited by justinmc978; 03-25-2010 at 07:18 PM.

yes, for the bumper, sand it off to the primer, at that point you can buy more primer and apply it before paint, but i didnt. i took a soft cloth, doused it with alcohol, and removed all contaminants on the surface, taped the area off and went to work on the paint.
i recommend removing the bumper, will make life much easier, theres a tutorial on the internet somewhere, its pretty easy to do
'skaker' refers to a spray paint can. autozone has a brand or two dedicated to automotive applications. they all will be fine, its HARD to mess up flat black paint so.
for the top, leave it to the professionals, you have to strip the car down a bit to do it right,Last edited by justinmc978; 03-25-2010 at 07:28 PM.

i understand manits still there in perfect shape,
sand it down to the primer, so theres still primer left on the bumper, under the light grey primer is dark plastic, DONT go that far, if you do in a little area no biggie,
i shoot for about 5-6, thin, back-forth, back-forth layers, 2 mins in between. so its dry to a light finger touch
you'll get a feeling for it, practice on something first if your really worried, but like i said, its JUST flat paint. the WORST thing you can do is glob it on heavy, not let it sit for long enough between layers and then have it flake off later because you were careless/clueless..
youtube has some stuff you can watch tooLast edited by justinmc978; 03-25-2010 at 07:42 PM.

as a side note few people know that the CETAs bumpers are not painted, they left them bare, the color of the bumper is a dark flat grey/black

4-6 layers total.
1st layer: spray it, let it sit for 2mins
2nd: spray it, let it sit for 2mins
3rd: spray it, let it sit for 2mins, check it,
4th: spray it, let it sit for 2-4mins, check it, if it needs it go for it,
5th (optional): spray it, let it sit, and check it.
6th (optional): spray it, let it sit, and check it.Last edited by justinmc978; 03-25-2010 at 08:05 PM.
