CETA Build
Hi all,
I thought I would throw up some pics here to document my progress in restoring the 2002 CETA you see below. The car has 46,000 miles on it and is an M6. It was owned by a Pontiac dealership owner who wrecked it into a bridge. The accident was never reported so it has a clean carfax and title. I still don't have the ASC No. yet, so if anyone can help me get that, i'd help a lot. I plan on putting the car back to original except for the paint. I want a brighter yellow, like a corvette yellow instead of the collector car yellow. All input is welcome.
This was the car when I picked it up:
Back at my shop, the entire wiring harness was unhooked. Its fun trying to put stuff together when you weren't the one to take it apart.
Cleaning the interior out, pulled 2lbs of glass out lol:
New QTP Long Tube Headers:
Ram air hood mod:
This is the car in its current state: Running and at the frame shop to be checked out:

Owning a 9 sec ricer is like coming out of the closest: at first you'll surprise everyone, but in the end you're still gay

THAT INTERIOR!!!! i want a yellow car with the same two-toned interior that yours has. Good luck with the re build. I can't imagine how much frame damage that sucker has.

Thanks for the input guys......ya the frame wasn't too bad. The previous owner said he had already put $12,000 into the car (including a new performance clutch). But they (the dealership) did most of the frame work, including putting in a new upper frame arm. But I just took it to my frame guys and they said its still a bit tweaked which i figured from looking at the door gap.
When I first got the car I was planning on chrome rims and some other appearance stuff....but now after getting into it, I think I want to put it back to factory appearance. What do you guys think? Keep it lookin like a true CETA?
AS far as mods.....I have the LT headers shown above, Strano's Bilsteins all around (but stock springs)
Can't wait till shes back on the road again

Pewter Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6 D1SC
Definitely keep it CETA looking but with a richer Millennium yellow. Thats the only thing missing from the original ones.
If fact, I heard that they were going to do the CETAs in Millennium yellow (same as C5s) but changed it at the last minute. What a rip!

Wow What a mess you have there...Good luck on your project..
Looks like someone had destroyed even before the wreck. It is missing a lot of decals and the painted black stripes on the back just don't do it....
Of course I have a CETA and love the looks the way the came from the factory..So I am a little biased...
Good luck on your build...keep us updated with your progress

yellow- 2002 ceta 6sp convertable
keeping them alive
doing same but not the amount you have to with a vert was crashed then sloppy slaped together front & no ram air hood just stock. if you get the build # id like to no how also. the seats yellow are not stock but make it look better i think . the yellow faded look is different on all the ones i have seen wantet one when new so i seen all in this state on the show room floor 8 or more some were brighter than others the one i got now is brighter also . i ended up in 02 getting a black m6 vert 10k lower in price f*^&ing dealer mark ups were 13k so now i fix one that some one didnt care for the right way. wonder how many are left of the 2000+
