    Cool Center taillight overlays.

Ok the time has come, to stop procrastinating and get on with ordering some overlays that I have been wanting. I bitch at myself in mind everytime I see the back of my car having a blank slate LOL. So here is my car's rear.

I want a silver in color overlay for sure. So now I am just stuck on style.. To stick with traditional style 3rd gen type bird design with the thinner Trans Am font, or go with the '98/'02 style slightly larger bird with slightly fuller font. At first I wanted to stick with the OE 3rd gen thinner bird design and now I find myself wanting the 'larger style' much more. ( I'm going to go ahead and call the larger style the CETA style as that model is '98/'02 bird with fuller font ).

What do you folks think? Traditional style or CETA style?

Below are photos of both. The first car is white with white decal ( and de-saturated taillights via photoshop ), second one looks similar and is silver like my car. My only catch is I do not plan to do the CETA bumper mod. I really don't intend to change the rear end appearance at all ( except for quad 4" exhaust tips! ). No taillight tinting, no 'Pontiac' inlays for me.

    Opinions welcomed and appreciated! Thanks!

I'm undecided, but leaning towards #2 - I kind of like what they did with the lights on #1 though...that's different.

Sleep on it and come back .

I like the traditional style as mentally I find it makes the back of the car a little wider and tougher looking, where as the CETA style with it's larger font and fuller bird feathers fills out the panel and stands out more and not as crisp. I do believe I will be ordering the CETA style, if I infact dislike it, vinyl isn't permanent!

On the first car I think that was a photoshop on the taillamps, took the color away and left it desaturated. If anyone ever did create a taillamp like that, it certainly would be interesting. I'll definitely stick to original though

and they have created a way to make tail lamps like that. It's about $275 and you use your own tail lamps. I would love a pair.....but darn financial responsibilities.

Granted, that particular picture is photoshopped though.

Yeah, you can tell it is, but it still looks pretty unique and I give the person props for ingenuity.

Yeah, I liked the plate too - I thought about getting something along those lines for mine....but there are some local cars that come out to play once in a blue moon that even I'm scared of lol.

I hear ya Jon. Just when you think you have something pretty bada$$, some guy has deeper pockets and walks away from ya. Although, that doesn't happen very often. I'm normally the guy in front.

Yep, exactly. The one thing I enjoy the most though is all the respect I now get from Fords and bike owners. They used to talk so much trash, not anymore. Word gets around after you walk away from a few different bikes from a roll lol. Cars tend to not play as much simply from the noise intimidation....that part sucks.

Yes and no to this, "noise intimidation....that part sucks". I absolutely LOVE the whistle the blower makes at idle, and the "street sweeper" sound when just cruising down the streets! A buddy of mine just picked up a procharger F1R used, and I think it has the quiet gears in it. It's no where near as loud as my D1, and the blade design looks a lot different too. True, not many people wanna "play", but I wouldn't change it for anything.

I didn't pick either, in the past I have left my center filler empty like yours for a clean look for a long time but I finally deleted and filled in my lock and had a custom one made...

How about it Ron. I use my key just as much as my button. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. Thankfully the two times I laid the keys on top of the light and slammed the hatch the button worked! now the keys automatically are in my pocket as soon as the hatch opens.....lol

Decals came in. The center taillamp ones seem a tad on the small side, hopefully it's just how it appears off the car.
