    Car won't start...either!

V6 stock engine and battery is new as well as the starter, when the key is turn over before cranking it, the fuel pump comes on (I can hear it). So the pump works as well but once u try to crank it, it won't. Almost as if it isn't getting fuel to the engine. I gave it gas after I cranked it which made it run really rough for a second and it died along with white smoke from the exhaust. I had to tow it home last night and wanted to see if anybody might have a suggestion on what may be the problem before I tow it somewhere. I try to start it this morning and same thing happened.

It may be a cam or crank sensor.

The first thing I would do is check your fuel pressure. Make sure your getting from 55 to 60 pounds. If you aren't getting good fuel pressure, your pump is probably getting ready to die.

Well hell! That's not right. For some reason I put it in my head that you had a 5.7L Trans Am! I don't know what your fuel pressure should be for a 6 cyl.
