    Camaro Z-28 air foil?????

    Hey all,

I've noticed a bunch of LS-1 equipped Camaros with what almost looks like a squiggie on thier core support, just in front of the air box. Looks like it might be a way the air is directed to not get it from the radiator area. My WS-6 doesn't have this (nor do I see it on other WS-6's). It appears that it would fit between my core support and the outlet for the hood scoop. Is ther a part number for this thing?? I figure that I could get cooler air and some increased velocity with this.

I have not a clue what you are talking about. Please explain it a little better. There is a mutli-piece plastic baffle in front of the support that channels air into the radiator. There is a "free air mod" in which the bottom of the air box is cut out. In theory, this allows air to enter the filter from under the car as well.

It just looks like a flat peice of "rubber" that is attached to the core support. Have you ever seen the "water squeegies" some people use to push water off of cars after they washed them? Looks like one of them.

So is that a facotry part, or just some of the Camaro guys have added it? I have double and tripple checked and I am positive that it will fit our cars.

I had it on mine. It came with my Ultra-z hood from afterthoughts.

believe it is factory, mine has it and I think it makes a half ass seal to the air outlet of the hood scoop

It's a factory piece for the SS hoods. It closes the gap between the core support and the hood when the hood is shut.

There are also similar short pieces on the sides, but they are connected to the hood itself. Next time you see an SS, look up at the air opening on the bottom of the hood, you'll see short pieces attached there too.

So has anyone added this to a WS-6? I was figuring it would help the flow of the air from the scoop and also keep warmer air out of the air path.

Only tracking I would have to do is to call my brother and get the discount.
