Damn.....................I know when I am driving I can tell when the AC quits, I feel the air get warmer. Maybe I was driving more aggressively then I thought! I haven't driven much this year with AC on, I much prefer taking out the T-Tops. Getting sunburned.

Mrr23 is correct,,,,my Hptuner says the same things on my 02 SS. Which ever criteria is met first,,,either throttle at 100% or the rpms over 4,200 the A/C automatically turns off.
At that point you are only turning a small pulley on the compressor that is not engaged anyway,,,and not worth removing the belt for such a small gain in my opinion. Besides, with 90 degree dew points and 100% humidity where I currently live, A/C is a welcome addition.

Alright................I have been owned. I did some driving today to see when the AC clutch disengaged, but it never did, even under full throttle. I did not get over 4,000 RPM to check that. I was watching my Snap On scanner monitering things. I do remember the AC cutting out when I am driving tho, like I said earlier I must have been on it more than I thought. I'll have to buy you a beer or 2 next time in FL. Gotta be good beer, tho. No fizzy yellow stuff. So, back to the topic, I would still leave the AC belt on. When the AC is not on, the drag is very minimal.

Whoever doesn't want their AC anymore , I need your belt tensioner to put mine back on. Spring was weak and belt keeps coming off. You'll save some extra weight by sending me your tensioner. Send me your compressor also so I can have a spare.
