    Brake Caliper Bolt size...

Just wondering if anyone knows off the top of their head what size the bolt is to take the calipers off of the rotors? Is it a hex head bolt or allen head? Just don't want to get her jacked up, stands underneath, wheels off, and then not have the right size tool to disassemble it, and then have to put it back together and go to the tool store...would rather have the proper tools before I go through the disassembly procedure! Thanks in advance!

They are metric bolts. Various sizes.

If you don't already have a metric wrench set go buy one and make sure it has a 15mm wrench.

I recommend using 6 point socket sets. It is much harder to strip a bolt with a 6 point if it happens to be on there pretty good.

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

18mm and 15mm will take them off.

See, that's why I didn't put in a size. I was thinking it was 16 and 14. Guess I haven't had to remove the calipers enough to remember yet. Oh well. The only size I generally remember is oil pan plug, 15mm.

seriously, with an 11, 15 and 18 mm you can do a lot of tearing through these cars
