Haha... you know what, i have one too. Bought it as a fun thing to have. I use it to annoy people with. Dont use it all the time, its an easy shift from stock to Commando.

Are you insane? You have a perfectly good platform to start with, and your already happy with the color scheme. For the money that you'd waste on another F-Body (also remember that your saving on insurance premiums, due to it being a V6), you could have a complete, albeit used (but good) LS2 installed, with any tranny you desire. Hell, I know someone who just picked one up (an LS2) for $2500.00, complete with all the wiring....

Yes, girls can swap motors too...

Yeah, I like her car to. It is very unique but she also wants an m6. So how much do you think she would pay for an ls2 motor, m6 tranny and all the parts to change it over from an auto, 373 gears (I don't know what 3.8's come with stock) and all the other stuff (larger radiator, new computer, exhaust, ext. I'll bet with parts and labor she'll have just as much into that car than if she could buy another real Ws6 for.Maybe I am way off here and I know it would be a new motor and all but I do know that project is going to be tough. I think LHR should start a post with the pro's and con's to doing this project just to be sure if it is worth it or not! And again Runn your car is sweeeeeeeeeeeet! I wish I could check it out in person!

There is plenty more cost to that swap than you think.
Cheaper to sell and buy a new car honestly....if you want the power.

And that wing is still disgusting. The car already has a wing...I just don't see the point of adding the whale tail...

It is just personal preference about the wing but I personally like it on the Firebird models. I do like the stock spoiler on the Ws6 t-top model and I wouldn't change it but on the verts it is just like the spoiler on the Firebird and it just looks to plain to me!

Can honestly understand why you would say that, but within the last two years, I helped install five LS1 engines in entirely different chassis'. Three third generation F-Body's, one second, and a '71 Nova. It isn't as hard as one would think, in fact, the only time it becomes complicated is when people "over" prepare for the swap, it tends to deter them away...

As for it being cheaper to sell, then buy, think of it this way. She's dealing with a V6 that she already owns. Our cars are not new any more, and most of us are here to either street, or drag race. Not too many show cars here, and those of them that truly are, are rarely enjoyed. But lets just say she does get her hands on a WS6, it doesn't just end there. All of us, at a certain point in time, swap our tranny's, as well as our rear's anyway, because their not that strong to begin with (more additional cost, on top of the purchase)...

With a V6 to V8 conversion, she'll save money on insurance premiums (which will make up for the cost of the swap, in the long run), she doesn't have to worry about losing any future value (because let's face it, all of us are here to mod), so she can enjoy the damn thing, and it truly will be a learning experience for those who are involved with the swap. I personally wouldn't give up on any F-Body that I already own, in favor for another one, but hey... that's just me.

Now, I'm not saying that it would be a cheap swap for her, but it is definitely a cheap swap for those who know what they are doing. There are donor fourth generation Trans Am's being sold here, completely intact, including everything one would need (albeit, non titled), ranging between $1500.00 to $3000.00 dollars (depending on condition, and mileage). Her particular swap would be an absolute piece of freaking cake....

    My opinion, of course...

No, I am not putting one on my car because I like the way the spoiler and the tonneau cover fit together. They line up well and look sleak to me but if I didn't have the tonneau I probably would try it out. My buddies would probably give me shit about it though!
