They're all pretty much going to net you the same gains +/- 1hp
Get the one that fits the best.

In other words not slp. They are the most abundant though.

the slp fit perfect, for me atleast, if you put weather stripping (i think half inch) along the inside edge of the lid...i hear granatelli lids dont fit well...or try the fast toys 98mm airlid, i hear those fit pretty good too

My slp fits like shit, I am actually about to switch back to my volant intake I havent had any problems from it except from installing and having to cut the box so the elbow fit that attachs from the maf and the filters!!
The actual clips dont latch except for one and the other one doesnt clip at all, and everytime I open the hood their both undone!!!

Same for me, I had problems with my SLP lid. It comes with a single strip of thing weatherstripping to put across the back edge of it, but I had to add thicker stripping along all four edges to make it seal airtight.

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
Same issues here. My passenger side clip is always coming undone, doesn't matter how I fit the LID in there, I can't keep that clip down.
I got mine to seal good, but you have to fight it. I'll be looking a new way this winter for a lid, looking at the FTP.
If you can find a used SLP lid for cheap, ~$50, get that. I wouldn't bother with a brand new one.

Regarding the SLP lid, I bought the lid and cold air induction package at the same time. With the lid you only get one extra piece of 16" x 3/8" x 1/8" rubber for the back edge of the lid. It does not seem to be enough to provide the needed crush to seal the lid and get the clips to hold.
However, with the induction package you also get two more pieces of foam sealing that go under the air cleaner basket. One 16" piece goes along the back edge of the lower housing below the basket and the other piece is broken up into 3" pieces that go from the back edge toward the lower opening below the basket. I think these pieces make a huge difference in how the SLP lid seals and provide the needed crush to get the front clips to hold.
Should be easy to add the extra soft foam strips (common foam weatherstrip available at any home store) below the basket to adjust your lid.

My SLP Blackwing lid already sits too high, so with adding foam strips it wouldn't seat at all.

Get a MTI clear lid, they fit just fine and you won't regret it once you see it on your car.

6mm?[/QUOTE]
Well yea, but i was wondering if there is a reason for it like some Hp gain or it just fits better, just wondering if the higher the number the better it is.

The bigger lids aren't going to do a thing til you get upwards of 500 hp. Any lid you get will be as good as the one next to it not including fitment. If you want the best gain for your buck get a lid, port your throttle body, and find yourself an ls6 intake manifold. If you dont have them, headers/full exhaust would also net you noticeable power.
