I have the LS1 Motorsport lid, bought in 01, but I do NOT think they sell it anymore. Pretty fair fit, not great. It looks good though.

Depends what you consider cheaper. I bet my gas mileage is a lot better and I'll be making around the same as you to the ground...if you just have a 408 with nothing special. That adds up over time

So have I but I have had mine for a few years now and no issues yet. Some crazing at the exit where the clamp mounts on but nothing much of an eye sore.

it seems cool, but I dont know if I would want a stainless steel one because it will heat up alot more than a plastic one will and make the air hotter going into your intake, but thats up to you!!

Maybe Im lucky, both SLP lids w/ smooth bellows fit perfectly on my Z28 at the time and now my SS. Even snaps down good. I will say the Lid does rub on the hood on my SS a little bit.

I saw this on ebay the other day and was like wtf... I feel those lids will fit like shit and made out of some chinese pot medal. And it says don't worry about your lid shattering due to a nitrous back fire. Well if you have a N20 back fire, your probably going to destroy your hood instead of the lid... I don't trust them.

Exactly, and if I was going to spray nitrous it would be a wet or direct kit cause if I am going to do it right its going to be done the first time.

Seems like a show lid. Not a performance one.

If that's what the OP is looking for, go for it.

I'd like to grab the MTI one myself, but I've read it rubs.

Yea I am just to biased on the lids to problematic thats why I am putting back on my volant, I had no problems with it except for the elbow fitting threw the hole in the actual pieace that sealed to the hood had to cut it to make it fit.

35th-ANv-SS has the best idea, get a lid for the D1SC.

lol yea he does but at the same time cant see spending that much money cause I dont want a lid haha. Expecially when 1 dont have the money, 2 dont have a dd cant wait on the down time. And 3 I couldnt imagine having a 500+ horsepower car as a dd lol.

My SLP lid doesn't fit well either. I thought it my KN fitler was the problem but I guess its just a problem with the lid,
