White/Gold- 99 T/A sold/67 Firebird
Bad Day.....
So the last few day ive been trying to top the car out(99 m6 t/a) and its been running great hit speeds up to 158mph so far not bad but today im driving on the tollway at about 80mph ion cruise control and all of a sudden when a song was over on the radio i hear a loud clunking noise so i turn down the radio it sounds like someone under my car hitting my floorboards with a sledge hammer so i take it outta cruise control to slow down all of a sudden my shifter starts bouncing up and down so i immedietly drop down to 5th gear at about 65mph and it goes away few seconds later does the same thing so i shift to 4th good for about a minute this time then it starts doing it again by the time i got off the nearest exit the trans was completely gone so after a long ride in a tow truck i get home pull the trans and open her up took the clutch out clutch is still useble but i pull the drain plug and still a magnet in there and i pull out a half inch piece of broken metal. so my gears are completely gone

Yah going fast isn't smart but we bought these cars for a reason, he hasn't posted anything to elude he does it in the middle of high population areas, like some people who post up driving through city.

So, if I go out and buy some condoms, I brought them for a reason. Just lay the girl right out in the middle of the road, right. Or is there a place for that. Like a place for racing? Do you know how many feet you travel a second at 158mph, with a reaction time of 6 seconds. He didnt say it wasnt populated area.

This is why I NEVER go WOT in 5th or 6th gears.
They aren't made for that power going through them. They are overdrive gears.
Good luck on the repair!

158, Thats all right. I pulled the Limiter on my 99, and got 166 out of it... It just wouldnt pull after that. Was all stock at the time. Good thing it didnt braek at that speed and lock the tranny up.... that would have sucked hard.
