average mpg 99 formula

just wondering what the ave city mpg people are getting. I have a 99 a4 slp lid and lm2. mainly city driving im getting around 17. just seeing if that is average. I know theres tons of variables of driving im just windering if that seems right. a guy at work has a 08 impala ss and says he gets 17 as well.

That is about what I get. I have a 6m and on the highway I will get up to 26+ but around town 17mpg is right on the money.

Thanks that's what I was hoping. Just got the car a couple of months ago and have been wondering about o2's and plugs etc. If its close I'm not to worried about them.

Take a long ride (200 miles or so) on the highway at not more than 70 mph and see what you get. You should be in the low to mid 20 mpg. Otherwise it is all about how much time you spend in the stop and go and how heavy your right foot is.
