Too bad your car is an automatic!!!

Seriously though, I was just about to post a thread about the cold air package. I have heard some people say not to get it because it causes detonation? What exactly is it and can you install it along with an aftermarket lid?

Does anyone have any pictures of it on their car?

Just buy the lid. Thats all you really need, if you want more air just do the Free Ram Air mod. You will end up having to do the FRA mod if you purchase the CAI kit anyways.

So what about if you don't do the lid and do the cold air? Which one would work better?

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

note to the wise: a CAI could lead to a new stroker.

user DJValy had one and ran over a pretty deep puddle-sucked up water and killed his engine. Upside=he bought an ls2 stroker

The lid would, cause you're getting rid of the factory lid that disturbs airflow instead of directing it in a smooth manner to the intake manifold, and deletes that useless baffle behind it, not to mention the outlet of the lid is bigger. I did the CAI, but ended up giving away that aluminum piece that sits in front of the radiator. So now it is just Free Ram Air and a lid. I had the aluminum piece in for a while, no noticeable difference in or out, not even after 130 MPH. I mean 60 MPH...LOL. Didn't help one way or the other with racing, at the track that is...HAHA.
