anyone ever had this problem?
98 TA 4L60E
when i idle down the road the car bucks forward. When i hit the gas it dosnt have the power it normally does. Also when accelerating the cars dash and chassy will vibrate pretty bad. Once i get to cruising speed it stops shacking and when i let off of the throttle while cruising it backfires sometimes. I replaced the O2 sensors today and that did not fix the problem. Not sending any codes and the SES light is not on. So i am guessing that it has a bad plug/ plug wire/ coil pack. Any suggestions? I guess my next stop is at the stealership to get a diagnostic done to keep from throwing monies at it.

Does the car still idle normally? Try cleaning the MAF. Check the fuel pressure at the rails. You should have around 58 psi.

got the car back it was one of the things that i was suspecting cylinder 4 wasnt firing due to a burned through plug wire. So my next question is what is the best plug wires to use when you have LT headers on since my wires were the factory OEM and got burned from my LT. Or is there a cover or heat sheild i can get for my wires? thanks.

I run MSD wires on mine, no issues. Plenty of clearance.

+1 on the MSD wires, I run LTs and MSD and never had a burned wire, just make sure they are not touching the header and you should be fine.

They sell insulated wire sleeves (I want a set myself) but they like $60-$80 I believe.

Make sure you do all 8 plugs too along with the wires. Sounds stupid but I see people all the time just do one plug.

I run DEI plug wire sleeves on our car. Nice thing about the MSD wires is that you can bend the boots to gain additional clearance. Make sure that when you installed the wires that you heard or felt one "click" on each plug and two "clicks" on each coil pack.
