from what I have read the f-body couldn't go past 2002 because of crash requirements not because of sales and it sounds like they just missed some welds for some of the 2002's

Whoa! I have an '02 and I've never received any such letter or recall notice. The only one I've ever received has been the one for the cats incase they go bad. Other than that...nothing.

do they look up by VIN to see if it needs it, or if it doesnt. Or if the previous owner had it checked/ fixed?

I remeber something about this as it was related to build date in 2002, So YES, call your dealership and have them run your Vin for all recalls to your specific car. Not sure on the Camaro but here is the build count for Firebirds: A total of 30,690 Firebirds were built for worldwide distribution in 2002. Originally Posted by jrc1122
