Annoying rattle!
Ever since i had my heads and cam installed, there is this annoying almost unbearable rattle coming from under the car...i just removed the heat shields from the passenger side, and ITS STILL THERE!
When i put the car on a lift you cant hear the rattle, its just when its resonating off the ground.
My next step is just to heat-wrap the entire Y-pipe and see it that does anything.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What kind of torque arm do you have?

lets see....i have mac mid-length headers and a mac off road y pipe( garbage i know)
didnt do the motor mounts.
it happens at lower rpms when sitting at a stop light or just cruisng slowly.
the problem started after i had a "reputable shop" in the area install new heads and cam. i think they pulled the motor to do the install.
and as far a torque arm, its all stock.
thanks for all the interest! i hope we can get this shit figured out!

I also had a rattle after headers,y pipe, and exhaust install. Mine was located right under the drivers side. I have read that this is the spot where most y pipes hit

Have you tried taking it back to the shop and bitching? I'm also voting it's exhaust related.

2 things to check ,first make sure a socket isnt sitting in the collectors if you have headers,2nd check the cats to see if the baffles are loose inside.,.

you guys may laugh but ive seen it a few times where the socket falls from the top and lodges itself where the 4 tubes come together.
tap the cats with something and if its that you will hear the baffles rattle a little

no socket, and i have no cats...
i took it back 2 or 3 times and the prick just says they dont hear it and they checked it out. as soon as i get the car back it rattles again.
the guys at that shop are a joke. they really f'd up my car. it now also leaks some red fluid (tranny i image), rattles, and has just become a pain in my ass and embarassing.
i got the heads and cam done over 2 years ago and have been dealing with this crap ever since!

Two years ago.......dammit I was going to suggest making the shop guys ride with you so they hear it, but I guess after 2 years that opportunity is gone.

sounds like its coming from behind the engine area to me...but some of my friends say it sounds like its in the back...its a mystery!
from inside the car it sounds like up front passenger side.

Driver side could be coming into contact with the steering linkage. On some header brands it gets real close.

get some friends to crawl under and around the car while the noise is happening to help pinpoint an area where the rattle is
